Amanda Anne Platt & the Honeycutters – s/t
For several years, Amanda Anne Platt has fronted the Honeycutters, an alt-country act from Asheville (NC), and their 3rd album in as many years is their strongest to date. It has a casual pop feel to it, but it avoids falling into a trap of modern clichés by incorporating real stories and emotions. Some of her tales are simple, some are complex, but none ever veer from the path of great, down-home songwriting. Most redeeming of all, however, is Amanda and her band showing more accomplishment with subsequent release.
