Daughters - s/t
Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with noise rock, especially when it’s merely brief fits rage, but it certainly was an eye-opener to see this group go in an almost-completely different direction of musical creativity. There is now structure in the mix, and Alexis Marshall now has a concrete vocal stance, while his bandmates have sacrificed none of their brutal energy. It’s by no means an easy listen, but the tremendous substance added to this band’s discography is a huge reason why it’s received this much positive attention.
